Mission Summary

• Accompanying the workplace team during the Active Directory remediation and hardening project
• Due to lack of resources on the workplace team side and the amount of remediation required and additional resource for the period of this project is required

Deliveries & calendar

Start date : March & the latest is April/ May 2022, mission duration between 4 to 8 months (by 4 months renewable). 

Role

• Remediation of (mis)configurations of privileges and permissions on computers, users, files, etc. which form a security risk
• Disabling of features not utilized within your environment, which may be exploited by hackers
• Phase-out of insecure, legacy software and protocols as NTLMv1, SMBv1, etc.
• Implementation of best practice features as LAPS, Group Managed Service Accounts, Resource-Based Constrained Delegation, Protected Users, etc.
• Security improvement of administration and support methods utilized by your IT department
• Implementation of the Tier Model. The purpose of this Tier Model is to protect identity systems using a set of buffer zones between full control of the environment (Tier 0) and the high-risk workstation assets that attackers frequently compromise. Should a cyber intrusion occur, it will be limited to a compromise only to that specific tier (or part of it) and should not expose the rest of the infrastructure from Active Directory perspective
• Documentation for each improvement made in the environment, reason behind the improvement, and description of maintenance

Professional Skills

• Remediated explicit user permissions on AD objects.
• Creating and managing SPNs for Web applications.
• Troubleshooting Kerberos issues and using utilities setspn, klist, and ktpass.
• Expert knowledge in administering Active Directory (AD) and GPO’s.
• Ability to establish new standards for quality, performance or productivity

Preferred Skills

• Windows 2008 – 2019 versions; PowerShell; SOAP; Web Services; XML; LDAP; Shell scripting; Python; DHCP; LDS; TFS.
• Federation Services (ADFS);Active Directory; DFSR; Kerberos, Exchange ,WSUS, SMTP, , ADSIedit, Adsvw, LDAP, IIS, MS Outlook, OWA, Microsoft Network Monitor, Tcp/Ip, SSL, VPN, RPC, VMWare, Terminal Services, Citrix, Group Policies, Perfmon, DNS, WINS, DHCP, MS Office, NTSD.
